Generating set
The generating set can supply electrical power through the rotating part of the alternator moved by a diesel or gasoline engine.
Domains of application
1. Continuous mode (prime)
– Applications without the possibility of connecting to the power network.
Applications: private villas, bungalows, remote buildings, equipments, electrical instruments, construction sites, outdoor programs and cultural events, etc.
2. Standby mode (stand-by)
- safety power supply source in case of mains failure or voltage fluctuations. In such cases the power supply is assured only for the mission-critical equipments: fire extinguisher pumps, lifts, safety lighting, pumps etc.
Applications: banks, hospitals, public institutions, offices, shopping centers and restaurants, hotels, malls, airports, gas stations, private houses and villas, industrial sites, where power failure is not permitted or causes essential material damages, etc.
Classification of generating sets according to:
- operating mode (prime and stand-by)
- output (2-2500 kVA)
- engine fuel and parameters (diesel, gasoline, cooling /water or air/, etc.)
- output power parameters (single-phase, three-phase, 50 or 60 Hz, alternator construction)
- construction (fix, mobile mounted on site or road tow)
- noise level (soundproofed or without, super silenced)
